The Scar Spa

Caroline uses the RESTORE Scar Therapy method to treat scars from C-Sections to more specialist Oncology treatments. Scar Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive treatment for scars both new and old. Caroline provides LymphaTouch treatment when indicated, this is a gentle, negative pressure machine that improves tissue function and mobility. Caroline is training to teach with Emma Holly on her RESTORE Scar Therapy program.

Caroline (She/Her - Cis Female) graduated from Salford University with a  First Class BSc(Hons) in Physiotherapy in 2005. On completion of her degree, she began her career in the NHS and specialised into Pelvic and Core rehabilitation in 2009 treating clients, regardless of gender or identity.

Caroline provides specialist physiotherapy assessment and individualised treatment for a number of Pelvic and Core muscle conditions including:

  • Pelvic floor weakness
  • Overactive Pelvic Floor Muscles
  • Bladder problems such as Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) and Urge Urinary Incontinence (UUI)
  • Bowel problems such as faecal and flatus incontinence, difficulty emptying bowels and constipation

  • Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP) during pregnancy and post delivery

Caroline has a keen interest in both top and bottom gender reassignment surgeries and has the perfect skill set to treat all patients using her knowledge of the pelvic floor and gentle scar techniques.

Caroline is based at Connections Physiotherapy in Strathaven. The clinic provides a relaxing and calm environment with private, confidential clinic rooms. This enables clients to feel at ease when discussing highly sensitive issues.  All information is kept strictly confidential.  

Caroline is a member of the Healthcare Professionals Council (HCPC), Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynacological Physiotherapy (POGP). She is a fully qualified and registered Mummy MOT and ScarWork practitioner working in both general and Oncology settings.

Caroline enjoys actively seeking out new learning opportunities and attending study days to enable her to provide the most up to date information and treatment techniques to her clients. When she isn't working, Caroline enjoys home renovations with her husband and loves spending time with her 3 boys, 2 parrots and a backyard of chickens and ducks.

Appointments are generally face-to-face, but Teams Meetings can be set up if needed.
  • We have allocated 15 minutes between clients to enable a full clean down of clinic surfaces and spaces.
  • We ask that you limit the amount of belongings you bring to the clinic and wear appropriate clothing to avoid having to change.
  • Your Physiotherapist will greet you at the main door to Connections Physiotherapy.
  • Some clients may require a carer, guardian, translator,  or chaperone. There is a small waiting room available if needed.
  • We no longer wear masks, but are happy to do so if you would prefer.
  • Hand sanitisers are available.
  • Follow-up appointments will be booked via your physiotherapist in the clinic room prior to you leaving.
  • Payment can be done by following the instructions on your Quickbooks invoice. 
  • We have allocated 15 minutes between clients to assist with social distancing and enhanced cleaning measures.
  • Clinicians will thoroughly clean clinical surfaces and rooms before and after each client.
  • Soft furnishings have been removed and replaced with wipeable items such as plastic chairs. Pillows have plastic covers so can be cleaned between clients if used.
  • All clients/visitors will be asked to thoroughly wash their hands on entering the building. Hand sanitiser is also available for frequent use.
  • Hand Hygiene is important in reducing the spread of illness. Clinicians will wash their hands prior to, and after any 'hands on' assessment or treatment techniques.
